In a perfect world, we’d each have a literal village to support the physical, emotional, and mental load of the perinatal experience. In the distant past, new mothers had generations of maternal figures nearby for guidance, care, and advise.
In our modern western world, this support is rare to non-existent. Studies repeatedly show that perinatal women in the United States are under-served and under-cared for.
That’s where a doula comes in.
You deserve personalized, thoughtful care. You are worthy of compassionate and non-judgmental support through these experiences. Doulas bring educational guidance, emotional support, physical comfort, empowerment and advocacy, nurturing energy, and help you feel confident going forward in this new season of your life.
