about

was born out of passion to help women through their pregnant and postpartum experience;

and to become the very system of support I wish I had during those times in my life.

The Mission of the lovely mother

is to provide safe, educated, and loving support to mothers through their pregnancies, births, and postpartum experiences.

Through soothing and time-tested practices, I am here to guide and nurture you. My job is to mother the mother. It is my honor to be entrusted with the sacred experience of new motherhood, and I will never take that trust for granted.

I remember sitting there crying. Just, sobbing...

…I had my newborn on my breast, and my husband sitting by my side trying desperately to console me. I was in pain, I felt emotionally unwell. I felt so… alone. It felt like there was nobody I could speak to openly, nobody who truly understood me in those fragile moments.

I told myself I was fine, that it was normal to cry, to feel hopeless, to feel like I had lost my identity entirely. I struggled through breastfeeding, until I had mastitis so bad I landed in the ER for two nights. I suffered through postpartum depression and anxiety assuming it was ‘baby blues’ and I could fight through it. (Spoiler: It wasn’t, and I couldn’t.)

It took years in therapy and doing ‘the work’ to get to a place where I could stand on my soap box and preach my concerns of the needs of pregnant and postpartum mothers to anyone who would listen.

And finally, I decided to do something about it; that’s when The Lovely Mother was born.

As a certified Doula, my mission is to be the person I wish I had beside me. I’ve learned both in experience and in well-researched teachings. I believe there’s a better way, and that each person deserve to be nurtured through it all.

I truly can’t wait to work with you, and to be the one you can turn to in your delicate moments. And when you ask for help, my answer will unhesitatingly be;

I am here, I see you, and I will support you.

SO… WHAT’S MY DEAL?

When I’m not doula-ing, you can find me wrangling my three young children (ages 3, 5, and 7) and hanging out with my husband (a Chief in the US Coast Guard). We are natural homebodies; so most often you’ll find him working on his jet boat in the driveway while I garden in our backyard (whilst the kids cause chaos, well, everywhere). We love to hang out at the beach, explore the local California mountain nature, and take our boat to Lake Havasu.

I love all things art; photography, writing music, creative writing, painting, calligraphy, … In fact, I own another small art business called The Lovely Line, dedicated to design, custom art pieces, and event work (invitations, signage, you name it!) I love incorporating art into any and every aspect of life.

When I have a second of quiet time (wait, what’s that?) I love a good comedy movie, but am a sucker for the feel-good shows (Ted Lasso, anyone?) All in all, I’m taking life and parenthood one day at a time. I’ve seen it all after having 3 kids, and am well aware that I’m nowhere near a perfect mother, wife, or person…

…and I’m perfectly okay with that.
